From far away the Fudge Fairy flies through the air
spinning swirls of milk chocolate that magically rain down 
into bites and boxes of creamy, fresh fudge.
This childhood story set us on our journey.

About Us and Our Location

The Fudge Fairy is a family-owned company located in the northern California mountains.  Our ranch is northwest of Willits, a former logging town surrounded by redwood forests, near the scenic Mendocino coast and home to the famous race horse, Seabiscuit.

Our Beginning

The Fudge Fairy was formed in 1999, as a real-life homeschooling project for the family's only grandchild, Lana, when she was eleven years old.  Since age 3, Lana loved baking cookies and sweets with her mother, so together they started the company to do what they loved and teach Lana about business at the same time.  (Read our full story in our News section)

While Lana was growing up, what she enjoyed most was making delicious fudge with her Grandmother during the holidays.  She soon became an expert and made fudge in five flavors: milk chocolate, vanilla, butterscotch, peanut butter and dark chocolate. 

Our candy was sold in three local stores and presented at local business meetings, events and conferences.  As the list of new and repeat customers steadily grew new flavors were added and our online store was launched in 2009, to make our delicious fudge available to fudge lovers everywhere.

The Art of Making Fudge - Our Secret Recipe

The secret of our fudge is a time-tested, sensitive family recipe that goes back several generations.  Over the years the delicate balance of ingredients, cooking and handling has been perfected.  Our proprietary recipe will remain a closely guarded Fudge Fairy secret. 

Serving Our Customers

Once an order is placed, a fresh batch of fudge is made and shipped within 72 hours.  Customers may order gift boxes and have them shipped directly to family and friends, and fudge lovers are welcome to join The Fudge Fairy Club which automatically enters them in the monthly drawing for a FREE 1 lb Flavor-of-the-Month Surprise Box and receive discounts on candy and gifts.

Specialty Horse Lovers fudge boxes are designed for equestrians and feature "fudge to match the color of your horse," including Bay (butterscotch and milk chocolate), Black Stallion (milk and dark chocolate), Buckskin (peanut butter and milk chocolate), Chocolate Palomino (vanilla and milk chocolate), Cremello (French vanilla), Palomino (peanut butter and vanilla), Paint Pony (butterscotch, vanilla and milk chocolate), Red Road (raspberry chocolate), Chameleon (variety) and our newest addition, Appaloosa (vanilla and milk chocolate with bits of walnuts).

The inspiration for Horse Lovers Fudge came from Lana's passion for horses and her purchase of a 2009 Red Roan filly she named Vital Luxury (aka Tally), who's name became part of the company tagline, "One of life's vital luxuries."  Lana considers her filly by American Quarter Horse Congress and NSBA Champion, Invest N Vital Signs, to be a true luxury.  She's hopeful the filly will follow in her champion Dad's footsteps.

Living an Active Life

While building business Lana completed her B.A. degree in Business Administration and is working on her MBA.  She’s active in AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association) and has been showing and training horses for several years.
